Occupying a rare infill site within an established London terrace, this contemporary residence has been carefully conceived to respect the architectural character and proportions of its Victorian neighbours.
The design draws upon the rhythm, scale and materiality of the surrounding streetscape, reinterpreting traditional architectural elements through a refined contemporary language. Pale, textured brickwork, precisely detailed natural stone and deeply recessed glazing create a subtle dialogue between old and new.
A gently curved façade introduces a distinctive architectural identity, while the carefully proportioned openings, articulated stone surrounds and recessed entrance reference the craftsmanship and solidity of the neighbouring Victorian houses.
The result is a sensitive yet confident intervention that complements the historic terrace without resorting to pastiche, demonstrating how contemporary architecture can enrich an established urban setting.
